Overview The Environmental Monitoring Card is a UPS card for network administrators to monitor environmental condition in rack, computer room and datacenter environments. It works with your APC Smart-UPS or Matrix-UPS to provide monitoring of temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions. User-selectable thresholds allow you to decide when you need to be notified of potential environmental problems. SmartSlot Card offers four user-definable external inputs for use with sensors for fire, water, smoke, unauthorized entry, physical security, or any external condition. The card communicates information in a variety of formats to ensure that your application is supported. The FlexEvents feature in PowerChute plus software allows SmartSlot Card information to trigger a number of user-defined events, including paging, safe system shutdown and event logging. SmartSlot Card works in conjunction with APC's PowerNet family of SNMP agents, adapters and with Call-UPS II for network as well as modem-based communication of system environmental conditions. The card will report temperatures from 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104 °F) and relative humidity from 0 to 95%.
