Intermec Technologies offers EasyLAN 100i, integrated Ethernet connectivity for bar code label printers. By providing advanced connectivity and support of open industry standards, EasyLAN 100i makes it easy for network managers to install, manage and support Intermec printers. Based on ETRAX 100, an optimized 32-bit RISC chip with built-in advanced I/O and network controllers, the EasyLAN 100I automatically senses and negotiates between 10 BaseT and 100 BaseT network speeds. In addition, the high-speed printer interface, built on open IEEE 1284.4 standards, ensures the fastest possible data stream throughput to the printer. Intermec is the first company to offer a printer that meets the open IEEE 1284.4 standard. IT administrators can manage the printer via the network, providing less down time. Messages like "media out" or "ribbon out" are sent to the user who originated the print job or to the person who maintains the printer. EasyLAN 100i supports open management systems such as SNMP-MIB II, Intermec Printer MIB, and HP JetAdmin.
