Dell 2350dn Laser Printer

Dell laser printers have everything you need to keep your home and home office up and running, all while providing a great value. However, we understand that you may have some questions about how laser printers have changed. Check out ten of our most frequently asked questions about laser printers and start taking the laser advantage.

1)   Lasers are just for business, right?

Laser printers are becoming more prevalent in the home each day and Dell has a wide variety of small, economical laser printers that can fit any household. In fact, did you know that these types of home laser printers are the fastest growing segment in the printer industry? They can be great for printing school presentations, papers, and personal thank you.

2)   Aren’t laser printers much more expensive than inkjets?

The laser printer has actually seen a pretty dramatic drop in pricing in recent years, making some
8 1/3 ink catridges or 1 Toner

just as affordable as, or even less expensive than, their inkjet cousins. The cost per page benefits of a laser greatly lower lifetime cost dramatically after just one toner cartridge. Did you know that one standard capacity black for a Dell 1135n is equal to nearly nine standard inkjet cartridges for our inkjet line? That saves you almost 50%! Plus lasers typically last, producing higher quality prints for a longer period of time, making it years before you will need to buy another printer!

(Ed note: 1500 pgs / 180 pgs = 8.33 carts…. 8.3* $16.99 = $144 to replace the inkjet carts versus $67 to replace the toner cart).

3)    Will a laser actually fit on my desk at home? Every one I’ve ever seen is big and bulky.

In short, YES! It is a common misconception that lasers are always bigger and meant only for the copy room at work. Laser printers have rapidly decreased their footprint and in some cases are even smaller than inkjets. Many Dell laser printers fit right on your desk and are less than 14” tall, giving you the same printing power of a typical large office printer at a fraction of the size and cost.

4)   Are lasers even practical for people who have less than five computers connecting to them?

Lasers can be used by a single person or in a home with several PCs connecting at one time, just like your inkjet. Plus, with the additional printing, you’ll save money on ink replacement long term!

5)   Will I have to hire an IT professional every time something needs to be replaced or fixed?

The only part, other than consumables, that need to be replaced over extended use is the drum & fuser unit, which Dell designs to last the life of the printer and even covers under the warranty!

6)   What if I don’t print very often? Does a laser make sense for me?

Lasers are actually ideal for very low usages as well because the powdered toner is viable indefinitely and won’t evaporate, dry up, or expire like ink jet cartridges will.

7)   Will my energy bill go up because of the laser printer?
Our entire Laser & LED printing line is certified Energy Star-compliant.This means that your laser printer will save you money on by cutting down on your home’s power bill each month.

8)   Are lasers difficult to operate if you don’t know much about printers?

Dell’s line of entry level, consumer-minded Laser/LED printers are plug & play, maintenance-free, and come with as few as one or two buttons.

9)   What if I already have an inkjet? Why would I need a laser?

Lasers can be a great way to lower your cost per page for any document that isn’t a photo printed on glossy photo paper. They have the same resolution and print quality of inkjets, are small enough to fit in the closet, and can be made wireless for ease of use. Lasers can be a great companion to your existing inkjet setup.

10)   Isn’t toner really hard to find?

With Dell’s ink management system, a feature included with all models, the program will immediately notify you when your toner level is low. It will then take you to a landing page to re-order toner far in advance of actually running out. Toner typically ships within 24 hours and doesn’t expire, so it makes keeping up with consumables a breeze.
